Our Journey from Hate to Hope is the first comprehensive Holocaust education initiative tailored to teachers from the Arab world. The project reflects our broader pedagogical philosophy: understanding our region’s past — moments of cooperation and of rupture — is essential to building a shared future.
This groundbreaking Teacher Training program brings Holocaust history and content on combatting antisemitism to Arab educators. The curricula has been co-created to ensure that it is culturally relevant, high-quality, and resonates with students.
In 2025, we launched the pilot Journey from Hate to Hope program with 25 Moroccan educators, who collectively have the ability to educate 1,500 students about the Holocaust for the first time. Over the next five years, we plan to collaborate with 500 educators across 5 countries in the MENA region.
The Journey from Hate to Hope includes:
Developed in partnership with Network member organizations Mimouna Association and NOAL and supported by the Claims Conference, our featured program empowers educators to teach a subject that was previously not taught. By training teachers who will serve as pioneers in reshaping how the Arab world’s education system approaches the Holocaust, we are equipping them to inspire tens of thousands of students and transform Holocaust education into a cornerstone of mutual understanding, tolerance, and coexistence, bringing impactful education for peacebuilding to MENA youth.
“The Journey from Hate to Hope represents a real breakthrough for Holocaust education in the Middle East…”
Lord Eric Pickles, UK Special Envoy for Post-Holocaust Issues
