Dialogue-Based Youth Leadership in the Middle East and North Africa

Our Vision

WeAreMENA envisions a MENA region in which civic organizations and institutions from all MENA countries and nationalities work together in cross-border partnerships to build a more culturally connected, economically inclusive, sustainable and secure future for all.

Our Core Principles

WeAreMENA is forging a transnational Network of youth organizations dedicated to fostering mutual understanding and co-existence across the Middle East and North Africa. Through inclusive education, intercultural dialogue-based leadership workshops, and culturally sensitive people-to-people experiences for young leaders and educators of different MENA countries, we are shaping a new generation willing to bridge old divides, acting as neighbors and partners in bringing about a better life for all peoples of our region.

  1. Grassroots action within our societies – change begins from within, through youth‑led initiatives that address local needs and build resilience.
  2. Re‑humanization between our societies – we confront fear and mistrust by creating opportunities to listen, connect, and see one another as human.
  3. Education and encounter – structured deep mutual learning of identities, histories, languages, and narratives to transform relationships.
  4. Respect, dignity, and pride – for every identity, language, and tradition in the MENA region.
  5. Pragmatic peace‑building – peace as work. practical, context‑aware solutions that strengthen trust and cooperation.
